Miami, FL — A personal watercraft slammed into a Miami Beach bridge, leaving hip-hop star Sean Kingston in the intensive care unit at a Miami hospital Sunday, May 29, 2011. Kingston and a female passenger crashed into the Palm Island Bridge around 6 p.m., reported the Miami Herald.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) reported that a passing boater saw Kingston and the unidentified female passenger hit the bridge on a jet ski, before pulling the two victims from the water and onto his vessel.
Both victims were hospitalized early Monday at the Ryder Trauma Center.
The identity of the female passenger is currently being withheld.
Police officials are investigating the jet ski crash and currently do not believe that alcohol played a factor.
It is also unknown if a mechanical malfunction or human error that led to the collision.
Kingston hit it big with his 2007 song “Beautiful Girls.” The debut, self-titled album sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
