Drugs found in air bag in fatal Mexico car crash

Mexico City – Two people were killed in a crash in which drugs were found in the passenger side air bag. The air bag had reportedly been replaced with 55 pounds of cocaine CBSNEWS reported. The air bag on the driver’s side failed to deploy the report says.

According to federal police, 23 packages of cocaine were recovered from the vehicle following the crash in San Fernando, a town in the northern border state of Tamaulipas.

Two occupants of the vehicle were transported by emergency personnel to a hospital. They died of injuries sustained in the accident while at the hospital.

The accident occurred approximately 85 miles south of Brownsville, Texas.
