New York – A bellwether trial for Zimmer Holdings Inc. concerning product defect claims involving its High Flex NexGen knee implants is set to being on October 13, 2015. As reported on Yahoo! Finance, more than one thousand cases have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation.
The scheduled bellwether trials are reportedly designed to provide plaintiffs that are remaining and their lawyers with an opportunity to see how juries may respond to testimony and evidence in similar trials.
According to a press release released by the Seeger Weiss LLP law firm, “The new Zimmer knee devices were supposed to provide patients with a wider range of motion, but many claims have been made that defective High Flex knee implants caused increased pain, loosening of the device, premature knee implant failure, and expensive revision surgery.”
The release says that the law firm is currently investigating the knee implants by Zimmer Holdings, Inc.
