New York – Rolling Stones legendary saxophonist Bobby Keys has died at age 70. As reported by AFP, Keys passed away at his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Keys is known for his history as a popular saxophonist of the rock era who worked with multiple well known acts in addition to the Rolling Stones.
The band is quoted as saying in a statement of Keys’ death, “The Rolling Stones are devastated by the loss of their very dear friend and legendary saxophone player, Bobby Keys.”
Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards, with whom Keys was stated to have been particularly close, is quoted as writing of his friend in a Twitter post, “I have lost the largest pal in the world and I can’t express the sense of sadness I feel, although Bobby would tell me to cheer up.”
