Cincinnati – A woman has filed a lawsuit against a hospital after an employee released her medical record information on social media. As reported by WLWT5 News, the lawsuit against UC Medical Center alleges information about her diagnosis of a sexually transmitted disease was included in the personal information leaked on Facebook.

Her attorney Mike Allen is quoted as stating of his client, “She was absolutely devastated. That is the most private of private medical information that was posted on Facebook and went out to a group on Facebook that had a huge dissemination.

According to Allen, a screenshot of the woman’s record was posted to a group on Facebook called “Team No Hoes.” He is further quoted as stating, “For an employee of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center to post that information on a social media device that millions of people have access to, it’s above and beyond the law and that’s why we feel that they’re responsible.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Hamilton County.
