Michigan – A Michigan high school student stands accused of putting Visine eye solution in a teacher’s coffee, causing the teacher to become ill. As reported by Reuters, police recommended Friday that a felony tampering charge be filed against the male Fowlerville High School student.

The unnamed student, who is stated to be under age 18, was suspended for a full school year in connection with the incident. The algebra teacher involved was reportedly poisoned over the course of several days and has been unable to return to school since becoming sick.

Wayne Roedel, superintendent of the Fowlerville Community Schools, is quoted as stating of the matter, “It boggles my mind that we would have a student who would do that…99.99 percent of the kids at this school are great.”
