Minnesota – The body of a Minnesota woman reported missing six months ago was found Saturday in a park buried in a shallow grave. As reported by ABC News, the remains of 24-year-old Mandy Matula was found by a hiker in Mississippi River Park in Stearns County.

Matula’s remains were reportedly wrapped in a blanket along with some of her personal effects, Eden Prairie, Minnesota police say. Her ex-boyfriend, David Marshall Roe, whom Matula was last seen with prior to being reported missing on May 1, was named a person of interest in the case. Roe shot and killed himself on May 2 before police could question him.

Steven Matula, the younger brother of Mandy, is quoted by ABC News as stating of his harboring no ill will towards Roe despite the possibility of his involvement in the death of his sister, “This may have put a bad image on Dave, but Dave, he was such a really good guy. He was a sweetheart. He was a good brother, good friend, a mentor just like Mandy… No one would have ever expected for this to happen from him.”
