Great Falls, Montana – A Montana jury has found a Virginia man guilty of attempting to murder seven police officers after he threw pipe bombs at them during a 45-minute police chase. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Laurence Alan Stewart II was convicted this week on multiple counts of attempted deliberate homicide.

Cascade County Attorney John Parker is quoted by the AP as stating of the case, “I’m deeply grateful for the jury’s hard work and for seeing this incident for what it was… It was a direct threat on the lives of seven sworn peace officers.”

Parker said his office would be seeking a sentence of life in prison without parole.
