California chemist charged after attempting to poison juice in Starbucks display

San Jose, CA – A California chemist has been charged in a poisoning attempt. As reported by Good Morning America, Ramineh Behbehanian, 50, is accused of placing tainted orange juice bottles in the cold case display at one of the coffee giant’s store chains.

Behbehanian was charged with attempted murder and poisoning after being arrested Monday for switching out juice bottles of a Starbucks-owned brand with tainted ones from her purse.

San Jose Police Department spokesman Officer Albert Morales, is quoted in the report as stating of the case, “There is no information at this time that there were any associates… We’re searching for answers.”

Behbehanian reportedly refused to speak with officers after her arrest and requested legal counsel.
