Nevada lawmaker freed after weekend arrest

Las Vegas, Nevada – A Nevada lawmaker who was arrested on a felony threatening charge over the weekend has been released. As reported by ABC OTUS News, Democratic Assemblyman Steven Brooks, 40 was held for over 24 hours in a Las Vegas city jail, after being arrested for alleging threatening to harm a state Assembly party leader.

Brooks has been charged with intimidating a public officer by threat of physical violence. Bail was set at $100,000 prior to his release. Brooks faces up to five years in state prison and a $10,000 fine.

A court date is set for Jan. 28, prior to the beginning of the upcoming legislative session.
