Detroit, Michigan – A man was arrested after reportedly taking his father’s corpse from a cemetery. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the 48-year-old son of Clarence Bright is accused of taking his corpse in hopes of a resurrection and storing it in a freezer.

Bright’s casket was reported stolen after being placed near a mausoleum on the grounds of a cemetery after his weekend burial was postphoned due to soggy ground from previous rain. His son was arrested, along with another man, after the discovery of Bright’s body at his home. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

Leon Jones, a mortician’s assistant at Swanson Funeral Home, which handled Bright’s funeral, is quoted by the AP as stating of the incident, “This is a very, very bizarre situation.”
