This year’s 100 most influential healthcare leaders may surprise you.

Although some of the people who received the honor this year are duplicates, others are not the suspects you usually call-that is because this is not an ordinary year.

The healthcare industry, which has been affected by the global pandemic, has undergone more significant changes in 2021. The first happened before the end of 2020, when the world promised to return to normal with the arrival of the vaccine and rapid approval. Their safety and the task of reducing the death toll have caused heated debates and led to further divisions in society and between employers and employees. The result is that the cost of hiring and retaining employees has skyrocketed, and as employers compete for talent, many work environments have changed.

At the same time, an industry that has long lagged behind its peers in truly providing services to patients has become obsessed with consumers. With telemedicine leading the digital medical fund, the digitalization of healthcare has become a top priority. Without external investment, many of these measures would be impossible to achieve, and in the first half of 2021 alone, it reached a record high of 15 billion U.S. dollars.

Our 100 Most also hope to change their team to become more diversified and inclusive. Although many of them still have a long way to go, DEI has become an obvious business need.
