According to local authorities, two people were shot dead in West Philadelphia yesterday, including a 17-year-old boy.

The police are investigating the shooting. The shooting occurred just before 2 pm in the 5500 block of Arch Street.

When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found multiple gunshot wounds on the two men. A man aged 18 to 23 was shot five times all over, and a man aged 17 was shot in the abdomen and leg. 6ABC report.

Police said both victims were taken to the Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center, where they later died.

Philadelphia police are still investigating the shooting, and no one has been arrested so far. FOX29 report.

The authorities are not sure whether the shooting was random or targeted.

The shooting happened a week after members of the Philadelphia City Council pushed the Kenny government to put more funds into use Youth Anti-Violence Initiative.

These initiatives include extending the operating hours of entertainment centers and providing employment opportunities for local youth.
