Goldthwaite, Texas – A veteran Texas trooper was killed in a recent patrol car accident that occurred in Mills County. As reported by the Associated Press, the death of 49-year-old Sgt. William “Karl” Keesee was announced by the Texas Department of Public Safety Friday.

 

According to DPS, Keesee was traveling southbound on U.S. 84 near Goldthwaite while on duty when the accident occurred. The patrol officer’s vehicle reportedly went over a guardrail after leaving the road and crashed into a creek bed.

 

The accident was reported by a passing motorist who noticed debris left on the road.

 

Officials were investigating the circumstances of the crash at the time of the report.

 

As stated by the AP, Keesee was a veteran trooper, having joined the Department of Public Safety in 1990.
