U.S. – Police say a man who died after driving his SUV into a lake while traveling with his family committed the act deliberately. Inside Edition reported that the man, 27-year-old Glenn Baxter, drove his estranged wife and three young children to Temple Lake after purportedly meeting for a discussion about the kids.

The moments leading up to the incident were captured on surveillance video, which reportedly shows Baxter speeding toward the body of water with his family inside the SUV.

Lt. Mike Pooley with Tempe Police, is quoted as stating in describing the video footage, “You're gonna see him back the vehicle up and drive it at a high rate of speed towards the lake down the sidewalk, making an abrupt left turn towards the lake.”

Baxter’s estranged wife Danica was pulled from the water by two witnesses who drove into the lake. Police also jumped into the lake to rescue Baxter and two of the children, who were one and two years old. All three died at a hospital. The body of the deceased third child, age 3, was later pulled from the submerged SUV.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page for the victims.
