Dallas, Texas – Two Dallas teenagers were recently killed in a traffic crash that may have been a result of street racing. WFAA reported that the teens died as a result of the late weekend day accident after what appeared to have been a street race with another vehicle.

Police say that 18-year-old Luis Reyes was driving with 16-year-old passenger Andres Mendez, when he lost control of the vehicle. Reyes’ 2003 Toyota Celica hit a concrete pillar while passing underneath Irving Boulevard.

Mendez died at the scene. Reyes died after being taken to Parkland Hospital in critical condition.

According to police, another vehicle involved in the crash did not make contact with the car being driven by Reyes and fled the scene.

The fatal car crash was under investigation at the time of the report.
