U.S. – Texas is one of the worst states for drivers a new report says. According to a KERA News report, the state is third on the list compiled by Bankrate.com, which ranked drivers across the United States.

Factors taken into consideration for selecting which states to place on the list include fatal car accidents, thefts of vehicles, times for commuting, and the rates of insurance premiums.

Bankrate.com asserts of the state of Texas “Not only does the Lone Star State have the most highways in the country, it also provides one of the worst driving experiences of all states.”

Texas also “failed to have any better-than-average ranking in the six categories in the analysis.”

The state ranked the worst in the fatal crash category with 1.42 deaths per 100 million miles. The number is higher than the United States average of 1.11.
