Beaumont, TX – A man involved in a wrong way traffic crash that caused the death of a high school student in Southwest Texas has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. The Associated Press reported that the man, Rockline Kennedy, 65, was sentenced by a Jefferson County jury after pleading guilty to intoxication manslaughter.

The report says Kennedy was traveling the wrong way while driving on Interstate 10 in Beaumont. His vehicle crashed into the car of Kristin Paris, 18, head on.
Paris, a student at Nederland High School died of her injuries the following day.

Kennedy had a reported blood alcohol level of .291 at the time of the crash. He has expressed remorse for the Jan. 26 accident.
