Garland, TX – A Garland teenager and two other people were injured in a recent car crash in which alcohol is suspected to have played a role. WFAA reported that the deceased teen has been identified by authorities to have been the driver in the single vehicle wreck. Speed is also believed to have been a factor.

Garland police released a statement saying that 15-year-old Angel Blancas had been behind the wheel of a white sedan when it crashed into a utility pole after going off the road.

Blancas was pronounced dead after being transported to Plano Medical Center. Rescue crews reportedly extricated two of the injured victims from the wreckage. A third person was found outside of the vehicle. One of the people injured is a Jackson Middle School student police said.
