U.S. – Rapper Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against his record label Cash Money following a dispute with the label’s co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams. As reported by WebProNews, others artists with the label have also hinted that they may also decide to leave.

Wayne’s lawsuit is seeking a reported $51 million in damages. Former entertainment attorney Reggie Ossé, who is also referred to as Combat Jack, gave a breakdown of the components of the suit, which include allegations that the record label owes fees for artists under the Young Money label.

In his lawsuit, the rapper claims he is owed $8 million in royalties and licensing of his postponed album “The Carter V.”

Wayne recently rapped on a song venting over his dispute with the man he once referred to as a father figure named “Young Money Cipher.”
