Dallas, Texas – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital nurse Nina Pham has filed a lawsuit against her employer over her contracting Ebola while treating a patient who had the disease. As reported by WebProNews, Pham has taken legal action against the hospital claiming it contributed to factors that led to her being exposed to the deadly disease.

Reports say Pham suffers from multiple symptoms of post-Ebola syndrome. In addition she claims to fear side effects of the experimental drugs she was administered while being treated for Ebola.

Pham is quoted as issuing a statement regarding her lawsuit saying, “The fact is, I’m facing a number of issues with regard to my health and my career and the lawsuit provides a way to address them… But more importantly, it will help uncover the truth of what happened, and educate all health care providers and administrators about ways to be better prepared for the next public health emergency.”

The lawsuit also claims that Texas Health Resources, the parent company of Texas Presbyterian, released information about Pham publicly without her consent.
