New York – Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan was reportedly not able to make his return to television and appear on the recent 40th anniversary show of “Saturday Night Live” due to not yet being “emotionally or mentally” prepared. As reported by Page Six, a friend of Morgan’s said he was asked to appear but couldn’t comply with the request due to still recovering from a serious accident last year.

Morgan was seriously injured along with others in a highway crash in New Jersey in June. A fellow comedian who was also riding in the limo van Morgan was in died in the crash.

The friend is quoted as stating of his being unable to return to TV for the SNL show, “They really wanted him to be there, but when it came down to it, he just isn’t mentally or emotionally ready to appear on TV yet.”

Morgan appeared on SNL from 1996 to 2003. A tribute to the star was made by Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin during the anniversary show.
