Los Angeles – Nickelodeon is reportedly set to make available a new subscription streaming service. As reported by WebProNews, the parent company of the network, Viacom is expected to release details about the service next month during a meeting with advertisers.

As noted in the report, Nickelodeon will join a number of networks that have chosen to make streaming options available for people who prefer it over traditional cable viewing. It is reportedly among the first basic cable channels to do so.

Variety is quoted as reporting of the move, “The new Nickelodeon service will be aimed specifically at consumers who use mobile devices, Viacom Chief Executive Philippe Dauman said during a call held to discuss Viacom’s financial performance. He suggested the service would have a different name or brand, and said it “will be very attractive to parents and children.”
