Woody Allen partners with Amazon for TV series

New York – Acclaimed director Woody Allen has partnered with Amazon Studios to create his first television series. As reported by WebProNews, Allen is set to write and direct the project, which has yet to be titled. Amazon has reportedly ordered a full series for the project, which is expected to make a debut next year.

Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios, is quoted in the report as stating of the partnership, “Woody Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time, and it’s an honor to be working with him on his first television series… From Annie Hall to Blue Jasmine, Woody has been at the creative forefront of American cinema and we couldn’t be more excited to premiere his first TV series exclusively on Prime Instant Video next year.”

As noted in the report, Amazon recently won best TV comedy at the Golden Globes for its original series, “Transparent.”
