Los Angeles – Controversial film “The Interview” has been made available on video-on-demand after being released through a Sony website, YouTube, Google Play and Xbox Video. As reported by WebProNews, Sony announced that the comedic film would be shown on the platform after it was pulled from theaters due to terrorist threats made against cinemas that played the American political comedy, as well as the U.S.

The movie generated more than $15 million in download and rental sales in the first few days it was made available.

As noted in the report in its limited release in theaters, the film made $3 million.

The film stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as journalists who have been given an order to assassinate a fictional North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
