California – Popular eCommerce company eBay recently sent out a reminder to sellers about the change in shipping rates that will impact the service. As reported by WebProNews, the company stated that its labels, shipping calculator, and labels for PayPal would be modified in accordance with the new shipping rates for FedEx and UPS.

The company is quoted as stating of the updates, “In order for eBay customers to obtain accurate estimates on shipping rates, it’s important that sellers include not only correct shipping weights but also correct package dimensions when listing items or purchasing a label.”

The rates will reportedly increase for several FedEx and UPS services.

Alan Gershenhorn, UPS executive vice president and chief commercial officer, is quoted as stating in June when announcing the changes, “UPS has been researching the potential expansion of dimensional-weight pricing for a number of years because it enables us to more appropriately align rates with costs which are influenced by both the size and weight of packages.”
