Los Angeles – Actress Joan Collins revealed in a documentary that she was raped by one of her former husbands as a teenager. As reported by WebProNews, the actress discussed the ordeal in the documentary Brave Miss World.

Collins said that when she was 17 Maxwell Reed drugged her drink while they were on a date and subsequently raped her. The actress is quoted as stating in the film, “The next thing I knew, I was out flat on the sofa in that living room and he was raping me… And what he had given me was a drug. He had drugged my drink. It wasn’t my fault but I didn’t know, I went out with him.”

Collins later married Reed, saying she felt like she was supposed to because she had been a virgin prior to the rape. They divorced in 1956.

As noted in the report, the documentary is pertains to the life of Miss World 1998 winner, Linor Abargil, who was raped after winning Miss Israel and being sent to Milan to model.
