Louisiana – Prosecutors say that a citation given to a teenager involved in a recent deadly car crash will be dismissed. As reported by Reuters, the teen was cited in the single car accident, which resulted in the deaths of five of his family members. The family was traveling from Texas to Disney World in Florida.

The family’s Chevrolet Tahoe SUV reportedly crossed over a median strip and flipped after the driver attempted to correct the error.

According to Louisiana police, the teenager may have fallen asleep while at the wheel. Monroe District Attorney Jerry Jones reportedly stated to the News-Star paper that the teen driver had been punished enough, and a representative from his office subsequently stated the ticket he received would be dismissed.

The teenager and two other occupants of the vehicle reportedly sustained injuries that were not life threatening.
