London – The husband of Tania Clarence, who killed the couple’s three disabled children, has reportedly said he will stand by his wife of 16 years and criticized NHS staff and social workers for actions he says led to his wife’s worsening depression. As reported by the UK Daily Mail, Tania Clarence had also written notes to her husband before and after the killings.

The couple’s three-year-old twin boys and four-year-old daughter all had a degenerative muscle-wasting condition that would have prevented them from ever being able to stand or walk.

Tania Clarence is quoted as stating in a letter written prior to the deaths, “I am tired of it all. No matter what we do it will never be enough.”

Her husband Gary Clarence has stated that there are lessons to be learned from his wife’s “story of ‘dedication and love’ which turned to ‘despair and utter hopelessness.’”

Clarence is further quoted as stating he hoped “never again will a family endure the unbearable pressure that overwhelmed her.’”

Tania Clarence pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the case.
