New York – Rapper Eminem has stirred controversy over his choice of lyrics in a new rap. As reported by New Zealand Entertainment, in his new rap for “Shady Cxvpher,” Eminem makes threats to punch singer Lana Del Rey.

In the rap, the entertainer makes references to the notorious incident involving professional football player Ray Rice, who was charged with assaulting his wife after video footage emerged of him appearing to have hit her in the face while they were on an elevator.

Eminem is quoted as saying in his rap, “But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice? Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ ‘Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.”

Lana Del Rey had previously praised Eminem for his lyrics in an interview in 2012.
