Alabama – A search for a missing 19-year-old has led to the discovery of an incestuous ring involving children in Alabama. As reported by the New York Post, the search for Brittany Wood has led to sex crime related charges being filed against eight adult relatives and three other adults who were family friends.

Wood reportedly went missing on May 30, 2012 after last being seen with her uncle Donnie Holland. Holland reportedly subsequently committed suicide after being investigated for sex crimes. According to prosecutors, Holland was the leader of an underground ring in which children were forced into group sex.

Prosecutor Teresa Heinz is quoted as stating of Wood, who is now presumed dead, “Brittney could have been huge… She could have corroborated so many things.”

Heinz is further quoted as stating of those charged in connection with the ring, “You’d be surprised how many of them had prior allegations. Nothing happened… You have to wonder what wouldn’t have happened to these children if something had been done. And Brittney might still be alive.”
