U.S. – Billionaire Internet entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg has pledged $25 million to help in the Ebola response. As reported by Business Insider, the donation has been among the largest contributions pledged by individuals, countries, and foundations.

Zuckerberg’s donation nearly meets or amounts to more than that pledged by some countries, including India, which has pledged a reported $12,000,000. The United States has pledged $750,000,000.

President Barack Obama is quoted in the report as stating of the country’s significant donation, “This is not simply charity… Probably the single most important thing that we can do to prevent a more serious Ebola outbreak in this country is making sure that we get what is a raging epidemic right now in West Africa under control.”
