Los Angeles – Singer Nicole Scherzinger recently opened up about her issues with her self-image as she discussed her new album, Big Fat Lie, in an interview. As reported by UPI, the 36-year-old former member of the Pussycat Dolls said her self-esteem problems have been a long term battle.

During an interview with the London Evening Standard, Scherzinger compared writing the album to therapy.

Scherzinger, who shot to fame as a member of the Pussycat Dolls over a decade ago, is quoted as stating of her new solo album, “It’s a very personal album to me… It’s a transitional album, and it’s very honest and authentic.”

The singer, who admitted to struggling for years with an eating disorder, said she is now “more confident and comfortable in my own skin to be able to talk about some things that I hadn’t talked about before.”

She is further quoted as stating, “Everyone always has these pre-conceived notions — that you’re glamorous, you don’t have any problems, you don’t have any issues, and we all battle with our own issues.”
