Texas – The boyfriend of Nina Pham, the Texas nurse who contracted Ebola, has reportedly been placed in isolation. As reported by Examiner, Pham’s dog is also being held under observation at the Hensley Field naval air base in south Dallas.

Pham was the first health care worker involved in the treatment of now deceased Ebola patient Thomas Duncan at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas to be diagnosed with the deadly virus. A second nurse, 29-year-old Amber Vinson, was diagnosed after Pham.

Officials at the hospital have apologized for mistakes made during the course of treating Duncan that may have led to the spread of the virus.

Dr. Daniel Varga of Texas Health Services is quoted as stating of the matter, “Unfortunately, in our initial treatment of Mr. Duncan, despite our best intentions and a highly skilled medical team, we made mistakes.”
