Seattle – Following the discovery that a number of answers to test questions had been changed from wrong to right, the state of Washington tossed the test scores of everyone in Beacon Hill Elementary. As reported by The Seattle Times, the incident, which led to practically every student passing the tests was a first in the state’s history.

Officials are still working to figure out what happened with the exams, but the state has not made a determination that it was cheating.

Clover Codd, who oversees the department for research, evaluation and assessment in the Seattle Public Schools district, is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “There was heavy erasure in every single classroom and every single grade, from incorrect answers to correct answers, and virtually 100 percent of the students met standard.”

Codd further stated, “We are not convinced that cheating was the motivation… It’s such an odd case. It’s perplexing.”
