Florida – George Zimmerman, whose murder trial involving the shooting death of an unarmed teenager sparked national controversy, was recently accused of threatening to kill another driver during a road rage confrontation. As reported by the New York Daily News, the driver, Matthew Apperson told police that he had been followed into a parking lot by Zimmerman, who threatened to shoot him “dead.”

Apperson told police that during the incident, “I looked over – George Zimmerman was the driver – and they were threatening to kick my ass and to shoot me… I said, what are you going to do, shoot me? I’m not messing with you.”

The driver called police, but did not press charges against Zimmerman.

Zimmerman was acquitted last year of murder in the death of 17-yea-old Trayvon Martin, after claiming the shooting was an act of self-defense.
