Dallas – A daycare canter in Texas has been accused of refusing to give children water to avoid having to change diapers. As reported by Reuters, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has enacted an investigation into the practices of the Heart2Heart Montessori Academy near Fort Worth following accusations that children were subjected to mistreatment.

The childcare center has also been accused of duct-taping children to mats during nap time. According to agency spokesperson Marissa Gonzales, the center will be allowed to remain open during a 6 month probation period as a result of a change in management.

The investigation was launched following the circulation of photos of a child who had been restrained by duct tape. The photo was reportedly taken by a previous worker.

Willow Park police have also begun a separate criminal investigation of the childcare center.
