London – Oscar winning actor, George Clooney and his fiancé Amal Alamuddin have posted wedding bans with the Chelsea Register Office announcing their intention to marry. As reported by the Mirror, the couple each paid a reported £35 before meeting with the Superintendent Registrar at Chelsea Town Hall to sign documents for filing their legal notice of intention to marry.

As noted in the report, the notice is required to be made public for 16 days before the couple will be permitted to wed.

The marriage will be the second for Clooney, who split from his first wife Talia Balsam in 1993.

Clooney and Alamuddin began dating after meeting in September of last year at a charity event and became engaged in April.
