Sister of Martha Stewart dies of brain aneurysm

New York – The youngest sister of Martha Stewart has died of a brain aneurysm. As reported by The Huffington Post, Laura Plimpton died Tuesday after falling ill and being rushed to Norwalk Hospital.

Plimpton worked with her sister at Stewart’s lifestyle company for over two decades.

Stewart is quoted in the report as stating of her sister’s death in an email sent to company employees that was obtained by the Daily Mail, “My youngest sister, and the youngest of the six Kostyra siblings, Laura Kostyra Plimpton, passed away today in Norwalk Hospital. Laura worked for me and the company for more than 25 years.”

Stewart went on to describe Plimpton as a “an extraordinary employee, mother, wife and sister” and stated of her sister’s organ donation, “We are so sad but also happy that Laura had the foresight to donate so many healthy organs to needy people.”

Plimpton was 59 years old at the time of her death.
