Florida – Marreese Speights, who plays center for the Golden State Warriors, was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving under the influence. As reported by the San Jose Mercury News, Speights was stated to have been leaving his 27th birthday party and was stopped by police for failing to yield right of way.

According to the Tampa Police Department, Speights was arrested after agreeing to roadside field sobriety exercises, and tests showed his breath alcohol content levels to be at .103 and .106 percent. He was subsequently released on a $500 bond from the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.

The Warriors team is quoted as saying in a statement that they were aware of Speights’ arrest and “in the process of obtaining additional information.”
