Delaware – A Delaware emergency room doctor has been convicted in the shooting of her former companion, which occurred while she was dropping off their children in a custody exchange. As reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer, the doctor, Lauren Patricia Daly, was found guilty of criminal attempted murder on Monday following a two-week trial.

Margaret Grover was wounded in the shooting, which took place in May of last year, after Daly fired shots through a car windshield. The 11-year-old son of the couple was sitting inside of the vehicle, but was reportedly not injured. Their 9-year-old daughter was outside of the vehicle, but was also not harmed.

Daly was a physician at Nemours Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children in Wilmington. She was also found guilty on four additional counts including aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She is set to be sentenced in September.

Grover reportedly sustained injuries to her face and torso, which she has since recovered from.
