Las Vegas – A Las Vegas hospital has filed a lawsuit against a personal injury attorney, alleging defamation. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the hospital is accusing the attorney of making defaming remarks during a news conference last month related to an outbreak of tuberculosis.

Summerlin Hospital Medical Center filed the suit against Robert Cottle in state court claiming the lawyer implied that it had failed to conceal or diagnose a patient’s tuberculosis to avoid a state investigation.

John Cotton, a lawyer representing the hospital, is quoted by the AP as stating of the matter, “You step over the line when you accuse someone of intentionally misleading a state agency.”

The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages against Cottle and his firm, in addition to a retraction of the comments in question.
