Michigan – A Michigan woman filed a lawsuit against retailer Kohl’s alleging she keeps getting harassing phone calls about a $20 debt she owes. As reported by Yahoo! News, Lisa Ratliff, says had intended to pay the balance due on her credit card bill, but decided to file the suit after receiving daily calls from the department store chain.

Ratliff is quoted as stating to the Detroit Free Press of the issue, “They started harassing me over $20 and I was like, ‘Screw it, oh well…It’s really annoying if you’re trying to get things done or you’re trying to sleep or you’re working or spending time with your family…I just want them to stop harassing me.”

The Michigan resident says she has received the calls at varying hours of the day. The lawsuit accuses Kohl’s of violating the “Telephone Consumer Protection Act,” a law enacted in 1991 that prohibits the use of auto dialer in calling a recipient’s cell phone without their consent.
