Court Papers: Truck driver in Tracy Morgan crash went without sleep for 24 hours

New Jersey – According to court documents, the truck driver involved in the fatal accident that left actor and comedian Tracy Morgan critically injured had gone without sleep for 24 hours prior. As reported by Reuters, a criminal complaint was filed in connection with the accident on Monday in Middlesex County Court.

The accident occurred on Saturday after a tractor-trailer driven by Kevin Roper crashed into a limousine van that Morgan and his associates were traveling in. According to the complaint, Roper was in operation of the truck, “on the New Jersey Turnpike without having slept in excess of 24 hours.”

Roper is reportedly set to appear in court on Wednesday, and is facing charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto.

One person was killed in the accident. Morgan and two passengers remained in critical condition on Monday.
