New York – The woman at the center of the firestorm of controversy surrounding Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was reportedly assaulted outside of a restaurant. As reported by the New York Post, an attorney for V. Stiviano claimed that she was assaulted by two men who hurled racial insults at her late Sunday.

Stiviano was reportedly leaving the restaurant in the Meatpacking District when the incident occurred. Her lawyer, Mac Nehoray, is quoted by the Post as stating of the alleged attackers, “They were about 5-foot-7 and they knew exactly who she was… They began to hit her and called her the N-word.”

Nicholas Pietro, manager of the Chester restaurant in the Gansevoort Hotel said one customer claimed to have witnessed the attack. Pietro is quoted as stating, “One of the patrons who saw the whole thing said they saw one guy punch her in the face out of nowhere… So they got into a tussle and she tried to get away. Some people tried to break up the fight.”

At the time of the report, police said they were unable to confirm Stiviano’s involvement in the altercation.
