Iowa City – An Iowa City woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison, after being charged with stealing from a law firm. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Kimberly Kurka, pleaded guilty to theft after stealing over $141,000 from the law office. Other charges against her were dropped in exchange for her plea.

According to police, Kurka misappropriated funds at the Foster Law Office from 2008 to 2010. The firm specializes in multiple types of litigation including criminal defense and personal injury.

Kurka reportedly stole unauthorized paychecks, made unauthorized credit card purchases, and engaged in other fraudulent activities during the two-year time period.
