Seattle – The circumstances of a news helicopter crash are being investigated after the chopper went down on a Seattle street. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), both people on board died in the accident, and a man in a car was badly injured.

The helicopter reportedly lifted off of the roof of KOMO-TV before taking a dive and bursting into flames. Witnesses stated they heard strange noises coming from the aircraft after it had taken off.

KOMO reporter Denise Whitaker is quoted by the AP as stating of the deaths of two of her colleagues, while standing on the street after the incident, “It is definitely a tragic scene down here. It is a difficult time for all of us this morning.”

KOMO news anchor Dan Lewis also sated on the air, “We’re going to miss you guys. And thanks so much for all that you gave to us.”
