Judge approves child support cut for Beyonce’s father

Los Angeles – A judge recently approved a decrease in child support payments for the father of R&B superstar Beyonce. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Mathew Knowles will be required to pay $2,500 as opposed to the $12,000 he was previously ordered to pay for support of a child he fathered while still married to Beyonce’s mother.

The judge cited Knowles’ decrease in income since being fired as his daughter’s manager as a reason for lowering the required support amount. Los Angeles Superior Court judge Scott Gordon issued the order, which is retroactive to February 2013, in addition to requiring Knowles to pay $15,000 for the legal fees of the mother of his son, actress Alexsandra Wright.

Knowles and Beyonce’s mother divorced after nearly 30 years of marriage, after Knowles was named in a paternity case filed by Wright.
