Delaware – A well-known Delaware doctor has been accused of abusing his stepdaughter by depriving her of food and bathroom use. As reported by Reuters, Pauline Morse alleged in court that her husband Dr. Melvin Morse would also punish the child, then 11, by making her stand with her arms stretched out for long periods of time.

Pauline Morse said she failed to intervene in the abuse to not undermine her husband, who is a best-selling author. She is quoted as stating of seeing her husband also hold her daughter under a kitchen faucet in what the child reported to authorities as waterboarding incidents, “He called it ‘washing her hair,’ but I knew it wasn’t washing her hair because there was no soap or anything… It didn’t occur to me what was happening.”

Melvin Morse, who has been interviewed by Oprah and Larry King about his writings on near death experiences, is currently standing trial for child endangerment charges. He and his wife were arrested in 2012.
