Massachusetts – A Massachusetts man was ordered held on a $100,000 bond after leaving the scene of an accident that caused the death of a bicyclist. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Adam Thurber, 38, is facing multiple charges including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury and death and speeding after being arraigned in Springfield District Court on Monday.

Derek Russell was killed in the accident near his home, which occurred on Jan. 1 at around 3:00 a.m. According to police spokesman Sgt. John Delaney, a Ford F-150 pickup that belonged to Thurber struck Russell and continued going without stopping.

Thurber, who was arrested on Jan. 3, has also been charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He set to return to court next month.
